Ammar Jiruwala

Secretary-General • Core Team Member

Greetings Delegates,

My name is Ammar Jiruwala, Head Boy of Navrachana International School Vadodara (NISV) and Secretary-General of NIMUN XIV. For me, NIMUN is more than just a simulation of the United Nations; it is a dynamic platform where future leaders like yourselves come together to tackle the critical issues shaping our world. As delegates, I encourage you to join NIMUN with open minds and a spirit of collaboration, ready to address a wide range of matters.

As Secretary-General, my goal is to cultivate an environment where delegates can bring the unique cultures of their countries and celebrate peacemaking while pursuing mutual interests. I urge you to represent your assigned countries not merely from your own perspectives but through a deep understanding and thorough research of their cultures, values, and positions.

Embrace your roles as if you truly belong to the countries you represent, and always maintain an open mind to collaborate and creatively find common ground. I truly believe in this simple idea: we all do better when we work together and invest in our future. I hope this inspires you to not only collaborate but also create a platform for mutual understanding and respect for all nations.

To continuing the legacy of NIMUN,
Ammar Jiruwala

Prisha Patel

core team member

Greetings,

I am Prisha Patel, Cultural Affairs Captain for NISV, and Core team Member for NIMUN; I am beyond elated to serve as the Chairperson of the United Nations Human Rights Council for this year’s NIMUN XIV!

As an experienced Delegate and Co-Chairperson, MUNs have been an integral part of my growth as a student, person, and communicator, a journey that has been continually compelling, exhilarating, and profoundly rewarding as a whole. Throughout the process of organizing NIMUN XIV, I am often reminded of my first proper offline experience as a delegate; the thrill of intellectual combat, the mutual respect between strong delegates, and the perpetual nervous system shut-downs when my delegation was mentioned in a crisis.

Intimidating as they are, it's these passionate exchanges of ideas that kept me hooked and involved in the world of MUNs for the past 5 years.

As a part of NIMUN’s Core Organizational Committee, I've learned that the true spirit of MUN lies far beyond intellectual duels, debates, diplomacy and draft resolutions–it is a platform for motivated young minds to come together at a common ground to learn, grow, and shape their ideas of the world.

Two of the most rewarding aspects of organizing NIMUN are witnessing the layered growth of our Co-Chairpersons who are navigating the world of MUN organization, and anticipating the personal growth and development of our delegates. Over the course of the conference, participants gain invaluable skills in public speaking, negotiation, research, and critical thinking. They learn to articulate their viewpoints with confidence, listen actively to others, and build consensus through constructive dialogue.

These are not just skills for MUN; they are essential tools for future leaders in any field, and being given the opportunity to provide bright young minds with the chance to develop these skills is beyond fulfilling.

This year, as we gear up for NIMUN XIV, I am excited and optimistic. I look forward to the debate, the disagreements, the occasional yet enthralling dissolution of Blocs, and most importantly, the change-making that this absolutely amazing platform enables.

As the Chairperson of UNHRC, I vow to facilitate a welcoming and encouraging environment that prompts my delegates to hone their critical thinking, communication, and empathetic understanding throughout. Our focus is not just on drafting resolutions, it is also on the understanding of the implications of Human Rights Violations on the rest of the world.

Pull up your socks MUN-ers, and remember, at NIMUN, we don't just participate, we ignite the torch of lifelong learning and change.

Yours sincerely,

Prisha Patel

Megh Patel

core team member

Greetings,
I am Megh Patel, NIMUN core team member, I am deeply honored as the Chairperson of the SPECPOL committee for this year’s NIMUN XIV.

MUN’s is something that I am very passionate about for the past few years now. Starting my journey from the prestigious Harvard MUN, it was an exhilarating experience. I remember when I first stepped into the committee session and the thrill of intellectual combat, the exciting feeling when you win a heated argument and leave the opposing delegate speechless. From then onwards I did not look back and continued doing a lot of successful MUNs. In fact, I won my first award in NIMUN XIII as a delegate in the SPECPOL committee.

Being a member of NIMUN's central organizing committee has taught me that a MUN provides a platform for young minds to come together to learn, develop, and change the world—far beyond debate and diplomacy. These are not merely intellectual experiences; they are transformative. They instill in us a desire to take action and a sense of global duty. Above all, they improve us as global citizens, communicators, leaders, and negotiators.

In NIMUN XIV, we aim to make the competition more exciting. I am looking forward to the exhilarating discussions, the heated debates, the politics behind the whole sessions, and much more that I can’t even think of.

As a chairperson of SPECPOL, I would like to add the Special Political and Decolonization Committee holds a crucial role in shaping the political frameworks that impact our world. As we convene to deliberate on pressing matters, I urge each one of you to engage in inspiring and invigorating discussions. Let the spirit of diplomacy guide our path as we seek resolutions for a better future. As we proceed through the committee sessions, I hope each of you will challenge your ideas, learn from one another, and contribute towards meaningful solutions. The spirit of camaraderie and cooperation will undoubtedly pave the way for success in this endeavor.

So I cant wait to see you all in action and be prepared for the battle of international affairs. Let’s get ready to shape the world with our ideas and broaden our horizons.

Yours sincerely,
Megh Patel
