It is with great enthusiasm that I, Vivaan Shah, invite you to this year’s Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). As the chairperson of DISEC, I bring a deep passion for technology and a commitment to finding innovative resolutions to conflicts. My background as a tech enthusiast has driven me to connect technological advancements with strategies for addressing warfare, guiding our agenda this year. I look forward to seeing delegates rise to the challenge of fostering international law and collaboration, ultimately striving for the greater good. 

During the course of the two-day committee proceedings, we will delve into the critical agenda of regulating Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS), with a particular emphasis on the proliferation of drone technology, cyber warfare, and the weaponization of AI. As delegates, you will delve into the complexities of these topics by conducting thorough research, analyzing key issues, and understanding various foreign policies. By expressing your viewpoints and engaging in constructive debate, you will challenge and refine ideas, ultimately contributing to the betterment of the international community.
